We are beyond frustrated—and I know we are not alone. Once again, the Snug Harbor Board of Governors has managed to waste community money in a way that absolutely defies logic. Property owners are shaking their heads, and honestly, who can blame them?
This time, the Board approved a $200 donation to the Red Hat Ladies for removing concrete behind the Maintenance Building. Sounds generous, right? Well, maybe it would be—if we didn’t already pay a maintenance person to handle exactly this kind of work.
Let us get this straight:
We pay for maintenance through our dues.
We pay a maintenance employee to do maintenance.
And then the Board gives away more community money to have someone else do the job anyway?
How does that make sense to anyone?
Residents are tired of watching dollars get tossed around like confetti while basic questions of responsibility and budgeting are swept under the rug. Whether the Board sees it or not, these decisions erode trust. People want transparency, accountability, and some basic common sense applied to how our shared money is used.
Instead, we get this—a completely unnecessary expense wrapped up as “generosity,” when in reality it just highlights the same ongoing problem: careless spending with zero regard for the people footing the bill.
Many property owners are disgusted with the Board Of Governors, and honestly, who wouldn’t be?
If the Board wants respect, it needs to start respecting the community’s money.
Until then, expect the frustration to keep growing—because people are paying attention.
