Ah, the Snug Harbor Board of Governors — the self-proclaimed communication experts who honestly believe Facebook is the only way to inform property owners. Because clearly, in their world, everyone must live, breathe, and scroll through their elite little Facebook group 24/7, right?
It’s almost comical — a board supposedly responsible for managing an entire community, yet completely blind to the fact that not everyone uses Facebook. Believe it or not, there are still plenty of property owners who don’t have an account, don’t care for social media, and definitely don’t want to join a private group just to find out what’s happening in their own neighborhood.
But according to the Snug Harbor Board’s logic, if it’s not posted on Facebook, it must not exist! Who needs email updates, newsletters, or official website announcements when you can just toss a post into your echo chamber and call it “community outreach”? Genius.
And let’s not forget — this isn’t just laziness. It’s arrogance. By relying on Facebook as their sole source of “communication,” they’ve effectively alienated a large portion of the property owners they’re supposed to represent. It’s as if they’ve built a digital country club, and if you’re not inside their Facebook bubble, you’re just out of luck.
So here’s a wild idea, Board — maybe try acting like a real homeowners’ association instead of a social media clique. Use your website, send an email, print a letter, hang a notice, or, heaven forbid, actually communicate with everyone equally.
Until then, don’t call it transparency. Call it what it is — pure ignorance wrapped in a Facebook feed
