Every community that’s doing something meaningful eventually runs into noise. Snug Harbor is no different.
Lately, it’s become clear that not everyone loves what we’re building at the Snug Harbor Community Hub. And you know what? That’s perfectly fine. Progress has a funny way of making some people uncomfortable—especially when it’s rooted in honesty, transparency, and real community support.
Let’s get one thing straight: we are not here to win popularity contests. We are here to serve our community.
The Community Hub exists because people showed up, believed in something bigger, and decided that connection, truth, and mutual support matter more than gossip, lies, or loud complaints from the insignificant peanut gallery. The overwhelming support we receive every single day—from neighbors, families, and yes, even from a few of the current community leaders who care—speaks far louder than a handful of critics ever could.
We see you. We hear the noise. And frankly, we do not care in the least.
Why? Because while some folks are busy tearing down, we’re busy building.
This isn’t about being “nice” for the sake of it. It’s about being honest. We speak the truth here, even when it’s uncomfortable. Especially when it’s uncomfortable. We believe that real communities don’t grow through silence or sugarcoating—they grow through dialogue, accountability, and courage.
And let’s be clear: calling out reality is not hate.
We are not haters at the Community Hub. We don’t operate from bitterness, jealousy, or fear. We operate from lived experience, shared values, and a deep belief that our community deserves better than whispers, lies, gaslighting and misinformation from the Snug Harbor Board of Governors.
If that bothers some people, that’s on them.
To those who feel threatened by transparency or unsettled by voices they can’t control: this might be a good moment to pause and reflect. Growth often feels like resistance before it feels like progress. Sometimes the simplest advice really is the best—get over it.
To everyone else—the supporters, the volunteers, the neighbors who stop us to say “thank you,” the people who quietly spread the word—we see you too. You are the reason this space exists. You are the reason we keep going. You are the proof that Snug Harbor is stronger, kinder, and more resilient than the negativity aimed its way.
We’re not backing down.
We’re not changing who we are.
And we’re definitely not apologizing for telling the truth.
The Snug Harbor Community Hub will continue to stand for openness, and real community. We’ll keep listening. We’ll keep speaking up. And we’ll keep doing the work—whether everyone likes it or not.
Because at the end of the day, support builds communities. Hate fades out.
And we’re here for the long haul.
